Babipur STEM challenge – Zero Waste Week
Hey Babipurians! I’m Jo, Mummy to 3 little boys, part of Team Babipur and @teamworrall on Instagram. Every week, I come up with a new Babipur STEM challenge and the aim is to make Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths fun for kids…so have fun!
This week’s challenge is to help raise awareness for zero waste week, and anything goes as long as it links to the theme of Zero Waste! I want to see lots of Babipur goodies being used, packaging and household waste repurposed in different ways. I want you to make learning fun, teaching your little ones why it is so important that we need to “be the change”
This morning we’ve done some Sensory SCIENCE. We made a habitat for our Holztiger polar bears and Grimm’s Wooden Toys Waves with some ice cubes. This was to demonstrate the effect of global warming as the polar bear’s home slowly melted while we played. You can explain this to any child and include more detail, where age appropriate. By the time the ice had melted Loki was genuinely distraught the polar bears didn’t have a home any more ?

This Challenge runs from Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th of September at 8pm and I’ll announce the winner shortly afterwards!
