Enzo, the Swallows and Me – New Book Cover Reveal!
Enzo, the Swallows and Me, Helen Mortimer (Author) & Katie Cottle (Illustrator)
We’re really excited to share a cover reveal with you today from Owlet Press! On the 1 year anniversary of Omar, The Bees and Me we can reveal that Helen Mortimer & Katie Cottle have worked together again on the prequel – Enzo, the Swallows and Me. We look forward to welcoming this new book to the Babipur Book Club early this autumn!
Omar, the Bees and Me
Wishing Omar, Maisie and friends a very happy 1st anniversary! One of our most popular books, Omar, the bees and Me is an uplifting story about sustainability and friendship. It encourages children to look after nature in their local communities.
Omar is a new boy at school from Syria, who develops a friendship with Maisie, who share their grandparents joy in beekeeping. Katie Cottle’s illustrations fill each page with colour as wildflowers grow throughout the town. We particularly love the honey cake recipe at the back!
Enzo, the Swallows and Me
The prequal to Omar, the Bees and Me, this book follows the story of two boys in Maisie and Omar’s class at school. Both are from different parts of the world and form a firm friendship when they find they have a shared interest.
However, when one of the boys must leave, their friendship comes under threat. The boys must find a way to support each other and make their friendship work against the odds. This book highlights the importance of boys sharing their feelings and supporting each other emotionally, tackling the subject of toxic masculinity.
Beautifully illustrated by Katie Cottle, full of warm autumnal colours, this will be a great book for your autumn bookshelf. The release date for Enzo, the Swallows and Me is 6th September 2022.
About the Publisher – Owlet Press
Founded by Samuel Langley-Swain in 2018, Owlet Press works with authors and illustrators with a shared passion – children’s picture books which reflect the true diversity in children’s lives. Focusing on the challenges children face today and packaging these big issues into inclusive and accessible stories.
Owlet Press publishes books that are ‘incidentally inclusive’. Owlet works with authors and illustrators from all walks of life. Diversity is the driving ethos for this indie publisher. Owlet believe that it’s vital for young readers of colour to see children like them (and for white, non-disabled children to see children that don’t always look like them) in books experiencing the joy and magic of playful, imaginative stories. This is a belief that we strongly support here at Babipur.
