What is a Nappuchino?

A Nappuchino is a relaxed coffee morning style gathering of cloth nappy users or parents interested in using cloth and want further information. Chatting to real users of cloth nappies like myself helps you make better choices or can offer advice if you are having issues with fit, absorbancy or require advice on boosting.

My Nappy Library

I have a huge personal stash of nappies which I am willing to loan out for a small refundable deposit.

So for no risk you can try a used (laundered of course) nappy out on your baby for as long as you feel you need and you will receive your deposit back once the nappy is returned. It's a great way of being able to get a feel for the different types of nappy without the costs of buying them.

Also...

I have a small collection of baby carriers and books which can be browsed through or tried on during these sessions.

Babi Pur at Home are showcasing at the Nottingham Baby Fayre this Sunday.

The Fayre is in Aid of the Nottingham Neo-Natal Unit and will be held at The Bulwell Academy School, Squires Avenue, Bulwell. Tickets are £3.50 doors open at 10am

I will also be demonstrating cloth nappies and baby carriers - although I won't have stall stock for nappies or carriers; so all orders taken on the day will be eligible for free delivery!!

Also If your lucky enough to arrive between 10-11am You will have wider access to fayre offers from all the stalls.

A charity bike ride with a difference!  When my Grandmother, Lilian Barton who is herself a great grandmother, said she was climbing Snowdon to raise money for Charity I thought I'd do something to help too.  So cycling buddy, Dafydd Ellis, and I will be climbing Snowdon on the same day, 23rd May, but starting at sea level on Criccieth beach, cycling 20 miles to the base of the mountain, continuing to the top on foot and finally making the full return journey back to sea level.

The charity we're raising money for is a little bit special because it's a school in Nepal, set up in 2010, that has been entirely funded by monies raised by my Grandmother and her good friend Lhapka.   Lhapka comes from the remote village of Khiraule 7000ft above sea level and 100 miles from the nearest road where the children have never had access to a local education, instead they have to leave their families at a young age.  So far Lhapka and Lilian have raised enough money to build the school building which is now also the village meeting hall.  The money we're raising now is to create and equip classrooms and pay for teachers salaries.  Lilian has just returned from a visit to the village of Khiraule which involved over 5,500 ft of climbing and days of trekking through the Everest region of Nepal, no mean feet for a 72 year old great grandmother with a fear of heights.  There are 90 children in the village and this school will make a real difference to the way they live.

So on the 23rd May my Great Nana Barton, me (Peter Barton), Dafydd Ellis and as many friends as we can gather will be climbing Snowdon to hopefully raise a total of £5,000.  If you'd like to donate then please get in touch by email peter@babipur.co.uk

Fairtrade fortnight runs 28th February - 13th March 2011 and this years theme is to SHOW OFF your Fairtrade label.  Here at Babi Pur we love Fairtrade so much we've got a bit overexcited and ordered loads of chocolatey treats and we're giving them away with every order.  So if you order anything from today until 13th March we'll pop a little surprise in your parcel  Offer runs until the end of Fairtrade fortnight or until we run out of Chocolate, let's just hope the Babi Pur packers don't eat them all before Fairtrade fortnight even starts!

This year Fairtrade fortnight is here and the theme is The Big Swap  Everyone can help by swaping their ususal products to Fairtrade.  The Fairtrade Foundation want one million and one of us to make the swap!  You can register your swap on the Fairtrade Foundation's website

In June 2008 Wales was declared the world's first Fairtrade nation.  The announcement followed a two-year campaign by the Wales Fair Trade Forum, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, to increase the availability of Fair Trade products in towns, cities and counties across Wales, and encouraging schools, businesses and other organisations to switch to Fair Trade.  An independent panel of fair trade experts from Britain and Europe reviewed all of the evidence collated and congratulated Wales on its progress.

The Fair Trade Wales flag is now touring the country to celebrate Wales' new Fair Trade status.  The Fair Tade Wales forum is now implementing the second phase of the campaign which will focus on increasing buying of fairtrade products.  To find out more about the fairtrade wales campaign and what you can do to help visit the Fair Trade Wales website.

A spooky fortnight at Greenwood park in Snowdonia from 18/10/08 - 01/11/08!  There's lots of spooky fun to be had at Greenwood this Halloween.  Why not go along with your children in fancy dress!  There are lots of fun activities such as broom making, scary face painting, rag rug making and make your own mask.  Take a ride on the worlds first enviromentally friendly roller coaster.  The Green Dragon familly rollercoaster generates more power than it uses.

There's lots of fun to be had at Greenwood, we loved climbing in the 'treetop towers' and looking out for crocodiles in the 'crocodile maze.  Why not visit their website here
