A holiday with a teeny weeny carbon footprint.  Well this was kind of an accident really, they had a great out of season deal on and as we ride out the credit crunch a holiday abroad seemed like a bad idea.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">A holiday with a teeny weeny carbon footprint.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Well this was kind of an accident really, they had a great out of season deal on and as we ride out the credit crunch a holiday abroad seemed like a bad idea. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">We recently returned from our weeklong stay at Bluestone and thought we’d share our experience.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>On arrival it is rather obvious that Bluestone is brand spanking new.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>The trees are younger, and smaller, than our children so it does feel a little bare but this isn’t a big issue and it won’t be long before this changes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Our accommodation was a semi-detached log cabin with everything that a small family could need and was very comfortable.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>The hot water is heated by solar panels which gives it an eco thumbs up as well.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">The park itself has a little village in the centre with a few shops and restaurants.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">   </span>The Pub has a good atmosphere and a family friendly feel so you don’t have to worry too much about the kids running riot.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>The shops aren’t enough to satisfy most people’s needs which is good really because it gets you out of the park to explore the local towns.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>We loved nearby <a title="Narberth" href="http://www.narberth.co.uk/"><span style="color: blue;">Narberth</span></a>, some lovely boutiques and gift shops, a number of excellent delicatessens and other food shops, well worth a visit.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Our favourite was the <a title="creative cafe" href="http://www.thecreativecafe.co.uk/"><span style="color: blue;">creative cafe</span></a>, sit down have a coffee and paint a piece of pottery that will be fired overnight and ready for you to pick up the next day, so you get the best holiday souvenir ever!</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">We ate out a couple of times in the restaurants, the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly, we felt very comfortable with the kids (not always the case in restaurants) but the food was a real letdown.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Very bland and not what I’d call restaurant quality.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Our advice would be get some local grub from nearby Narberth and head down to the pub after you’ve cooked your own food.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">The Blue Lagoon Powered by an elephant plant burning renewable energy centre (another eco thumbs up) This is the main attraction at Bluestone, a large indoor pool complex complete with wave machine, numerous slides and rapid river.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Great for kids, and Dads, to enjoy but don’t expect to get a few lengths in as there isn’t a proper swimming pool and we did find there was a lack of things for children under 5.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">Bluestone Park is surrounded by the rolling countryside of Pembrokeshire and there are loads of attractions nearby making Bluestone a very good base to see them from.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>We had a superb holiday at Bluestone, an informal relaxing atmosphere made for a great holiday with the family.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span><a title="Bluestone" href="http://www.bluestonewales.com/"><span style="color: blue;">Visit the Bluestone Website</span></a></span></p>
<p><font style="font-size: small;" face="Times New Roman" size="3"></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; line-height: 14.25pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: black; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">Last thing. . . .watch out for those golf buggies, we were nearly run over by one, as it came skidding down the hill towards us I screamed at the young hooligan driving it (it can’t be repeated there might be children watching) only to find a docile looking OAP at the wheel.</span></p>
